Leela’s 6th Annual Ballet Dream Showcase Fundraiser & Social Dance

As you can imagine, it is very expensive to attend professional ballet school, and even more expensive if you are required to live away from home. To help give you some perspective, it costs $200 for one pair of point shoes which only last 13 hours. Leela Taggar will soon be 17, and has lived in Montreal for the past three years attending professional ballet school at École supérieure de ballet de Montréal.

This year, Leela will performing two classical ballet dances, plus she has invited a couple other guest dancers as well. (Bella Susana Nagy)

New this year, following the showcase there will a social dance with live music by The Riff’s (Yvonne Way, lead vocals, Rob Gies on guitar) and guests (Andrew Lanesmith). In addition, there will be more dance music by Gino Cadorin. He will be playing a variety of dance music from salsa, merengue, country two step, west coast swing, ballroom (waltz, foxtrot, quickstep, tango, Viennese waltz, argentine tango), latin (jive, chacha, rumba). Bring your dance shoes to dance the night away with the performers (we kindly request only indoor shoes on the dance floor).

Note: Price includes admission, a drink (tea, coffee, or water) and a snack item (like one of Leela’s delicious baked goods)
