My Fundraising Efforts
On January 26, 2016, I was so happy when I found out I had been accepted into Canada's Royal Winnipeg Ballet. To quickly follow that up was the tough truth that I had to find a way to pay the $5,430to attend by May 20, 2016 to attend.
I was determined to find a way to raise the money myself to take advantage of this incredible opportunity. I love helping and contributing to the community, so for the past four and a half months, I have been trying to work and help around my neighborhood to raise the money. I have been babysitting, animal sitting, walking dogs, baking, making meals for families, shoveling snow, doing yard work, helping to promote events, playing harp for private events, and collecting empty bottles to raise money.
I am nearly there, but have not yet been able to raise enough money for tuition, equipment, and other expenses asscoiated with attending. I have worked very hard to get this far and and will continue to do so hoping I can take part in the Summer School program.
Since the May 20 deadline is fast approaching, I am reaching out to everybody I can to raise the remaining money. I have set up a GoFundMe campaign to try to reach people outside my community for support. You can donate by clicking the "Donate" button, or visiting www.gofundme.com/LeelasBalletDream. I appreciate every little donation you can spare.
I am hoping that the online campaign works, but I will not give up helping in the community even after my fundraising is complete. I want to say thank you to everybody who has supported me so far, and I look forward to helping as many other people as I can.
THANK YOU!
